We invite you to come and worship with us! Shady Grove Baptist Church seeks to be a body of believers GATHERING to worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth while growing in His word through teaching and preaching, so that we may go share His love and truth with anyone we encounter.
History: On August 26, 1865, twenty-eight charter members organized Shady Grove Baptist Church. The name was derived from the huge timbers and wooded land that surrounded the original church location. Today, Shady Grove continues to be a light in the Sunset community. The Church strives to build meaningful relationships and reach out to our surrounding neighbors and all of Pickens County.
Missions: We believe that the church is called to share the gospel of Jesus and make disciples of all nations. We participate in local, national, and foreign mission projects regularly. We have developed meaningful relationships with local ministries within Pickens County as well as supporting church planters across the nation and globe.
Discipleship: We offer two key opportunities for discipleship. On Sunday mornings at 10:00 am, we offer small groups where you can connect with fellow believers and grow in your knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ. On Wednesdays, we meet at 6:30pm and have both activities for kids and adults. Both groups have age appropriate Bible studies and activities. Wednesday evening is a discussion based discipleship plan where we grow together in Christ.
